Affirmations are statements that you say out loud to yourself on a regular basis. The goal is to re-program your subconscious mind with positive thoughts so that you can reach your maximum potential. They can also be a great tool for boosting your self-belief and to help you relax when you are stressed out.

Have you ever met someone and asked them 'why are you so happy?' or 'why are you not angry at that person?' They seem odd right. Affirmations are very popular in religions, which is one of the reasons why people feel those with inner peace or who are very positive appear to be deeply religious or very self-assured but they not that different from the average person. The difference is they have trained themselves to think and act differently in order to overcome obstacles.

There may be one or several reasons why someone has self-doubt but we all have experience this feeling. However it may be more apparent in some that others but it is there. We are hoping that our Recruit-Drive users will endeavour to use of daily affirmations to reinforce productive behaviours and also to change ones that need changing. Being happy in your work life is down to you. If you want to change your life you need to change how you think and change what you do.

So what do you need to do in order to use of positive affirmations in your work life?

Make time and create a daily script and rethink your reaction to specific or recurring stations. Once you develop your personal affirmations and start using them you will see an improvement in your mood, attitude, and approach to life, and therefore what you get from life.

Remember you are likely to be harder on yourself than others. We judge ourselves against very high and what is essentially artificial criteria. Material success is not what life is about. Do you get satisfaction in your day to day life and from what you do and your general behaviours? Most ordinary good, honest people are believe that what they have is not worth anything or is not enough. Don't be fooled! Be the best you can be and live with integrity. Remove any negative thoughts preventing you from pursuing your goals and dreams - Enjoy 'being', living a good life and congratulate yourself on achievements.

    Steps to take to:

    1. Identify your negative self-talk and beliefs.

    2. Create affirmations out of those negative beliefs.

    3. Begin using the new positive affirmations and gradually begin to see a change

    Examples of affirmations for everyday

    • I am good person.

    • I have integrity.

    • I do what is ethically right and good.

    • Whatever life puts before me will be useful experience that will make me stronger, wiser, and more tolerant.

    • I am strong enough to understand and make allowances for other people's weaknesses, and their behaviour towards me. Other people's behaviour is about them, not me.

    • No one can make me angry. I am responsible for my own actions.

    • I focus on the joy of living my life and helping others where and when I can.

    • I smile and laugh whenever I can - life is good

    • I forgive other people. Deep down everyone is a good person, just like me.

    • I am a compassionate and loving, caring person.

We challenge you to think about what you want out of life (not only in the workplace) and the positive thoughts that can help you achieve your dreams. Remember to create sentences that are about positive behaviours and start in the first person i.e. I am……, I always…..
